This is a remote-first role for candidates physically located in the United States

Responsibilities

In collaboration with the rest of the engineering team at Shippy, you will build core features and functionalities to solve pressing customer needs. You will play the role of a product owner and completely own the development of new features, including frequently talking to customers to receive feedback and iterate. You will also help Shippy formalize its engineering development processes, and be encouraged to play a role in shaping company culture.

Qualifications

• 0-4+ years of experience working as a software engineer, data scientist or data engineer on high growth teams (in logistics and/or fintech is a plus, but not expected).
• Experience leading large-scale technical projects from start to finish, and collaborating with cross functional teams along the way.
• Experience with web automation frameworks and with building, maintaining REST APIs is a plus.
• Experience in using advanced machine learning techniques to extract information from unstructured documents is a plus.
• Reputation for obsessing over learning as much as possible, and shipping things fast without compromising on quality.

Interview Process

• Intro call - 30 minutes
• Technical interview - 45 minutes
• Take home assignment - (we estimate that it’ll take candidates <1 day to complete it, but you’ll be given 3 days to submit the assignment)
• Final interview (assignment review, cultural fit interview) - 1.5 hours
• Reference checks - 1 week
